The New Testament, of course, was written with four gospels, one of which is the Gospel of Luke. Also known simply as Luke, it’s the longest of the New Testament’s four gospels. While the exact publication date of the Gospel of Luke is unknown, historians believe it was written sometime around 70 to 90 A.D., making the name Luke over 2,000 years old.

In addition to the United States, Luke is also popular in the United Kingdom. Statistics show that it’s the 21st most popular boys’ name in the U.K. territories of England and Wales.
